Michael P’Ng
Co-Founder / Director
Michael is the Co-Founder of Quartz Claims and a senior insurance claims leader with over three decades of experience across claims operations, governance and end-to-end business transformation. He established Quartz Claims to deliver a clearer, faster and more trusted claims experience for insurers, intermediaries and customers, combining deep technical expertise with a practical, technology-enabled approach to claims management.
Michael is a strong advocate that claims is the first real, tangible service a customer experiences after purchasing an insurance product and the moment an insurer’s promise is truly tested. When customers are at their most vulnerable, the way a claim is received, explained and progressed can fundamentally reshape their perception of claims, and of the brand behind it. This belief underpins Quartz Claims’ focus on empathy, transparency, and decisive action, supported by strong governance and compliant processes.
Michael’s career is defined by building high-performing claims functions, lifting customer and commercial outcomes in complex portfolios. Most recently, he transformed the claims proposition at 360 Underwriting Solutions, establishing capability across multiple product classes and implementing new systems and supplier strategies to improve efficiency and reduce spend. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles at QBE, including Head of Specialty Claims and Head of Agency Claims, where he led national teams, strengthened governance and performance frameworks, delivered strong customer experience and quality outcomes.
At Quartz Claims, Michael brings hands-on leadership in operational design, claims strategy, supplier management, compliance, and digital transformation. He is focused on embedding disciplined claims practices, transparent reporting, and smarter workflows that reduce cycle times while protecting customers, clients and brand outcomes.
Michael’s vision is Quartz Claims exists for the moment the policy stops being words and starts being action.
